Background

In 1993 in Italy, after my mother left the body, I approached the Hatha Yoga practice pretty much as an agnostic, from an Italian Catholic background, and yet the religious narrative was not very logical and it did not make sense, the Pity, the Guilt. I wanted a manual on how to behave. During my late teens, I was more spiritual than religious and I was fine with myself, studying at University, working in Fashion, Arts and Entertainment, looking after my health, not hurting our planet and animals, and serving others through voluntary services in the community.
My nurturing family and culture equipped me with the tools to navigate life. I lived in France, Spain, UK and Ghana. I then discovered the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta tradition in 2000 in London. Suddenly all makes sense, it is about using your mind and body, not a faith-based tradition. The Vedanta was so logical and it hooked me, so I chose the Yogic path. Vedanta says that, in essence, we and the Supreme Self are one. I am a spark of divinity! We all are. 100% objectivity, no judgment, discipline, not dogma It reminds us of our true nature, a journey to discover the Self within us and in all beings. Vedanta teaches the unity of life and the unity of consciousness, one and the same.
